To start with...

This weekend was full of fun with we people starting to cook.. There was a small plan of buying a cylinder with mounted burner.. But we ourselves dunno how good we are at cooking as we people, though had prior experiences, were guided my our moms back at home!! The absence of an elderly person's guidance made us not to invest much on utensils!!

Finally as decided, we went to Big Bazaar to purchase bare minimum utensils that could just be used to make coffee and toast bread!! And.. While returning, we purchased the cylinder with the mounted burner!! We were a bit scared of buying it as it always reminded of the cylinders used in "Maamiyaar-Marumagal fights!!". But we made up our mind to buy it as the utensils were already purchased!!

It was a coincidence that (aarva kolaaru) Siddaarth and (taste tester) Ragupathy came home that day!! We were actually planning to try our hand in doing "Maggi Noodles".. But Siddaarth's presence changed the plans and we ended up starting with "Rava Upma".. He himself went and bought all required ingredients!!

With the stage set.. We started boiling milk as a mark of entering the new house!! And it was a strange coincidence our house owner came home by then to collect the remaining caution deposit amount!! After have a hot cup of coffee, we all became brisk and started cooking!!

Then started the process of making Rava Upma.. All we prayed God was that this should come well as it was the first thing we are trying at!! Initially unaware of accurate measurements, myself and Sushil called our moms and asked for the receipe.. With two different receipe coming in, we made our own third version and started working on it!! With our own recipe getting ready, we started cooking!! Each one adding their part of salt and water, (sura puli) Surendran started doing Upma.. After hours of stirring.. Surendran finally made really tasty dinner for 9!! [To note: Even our moms were scared on hearing that we started doing upma for 9 people as we wouldnt know the measurements properly!!].. Well.. Kudos to Surendran!! Kudos to Sushil for accompanying him in cooking it perfectly!!

With the Upma getting ready, we found that it wouldn't be enough for all!! Sushil started with making Maggi Noodles.. Again the problem arose with water.. With each one giving their own style of making, Sushil got confused!! Finally he ended up adding exact amount of water and make a mouth-watering noodles!!

Well.. After all those tasty moments.. It was the time for washing!!! And there he was.. Sushil again jumped into the scene and started washing all utensils!!! [ Porumai jaasthi thaan!!! Boys padathula varaapla.. "un pondaatti romba kuduththu vechchava!!!"]
